Global branding expertise to support Maldivian tourism sector

Following the recent opening of its Amsterdam office, QUO, the world’s first and only specialist hotel and travel branding agency, is once again expanding its global presence with the opening of an office in Malé in the Maldives.

QUO has had a pivotal relationship with the Maldives tourism sector, having inspired some of the country’s leading resort brands including Huvafen Fushi for Per AQUUM, Kurumba, Baros, Velassaru for Universal Resorts and The Sun Siyam Iru Fushi and Sun Aqua for Sun Siyam, to name just a few. QUO also developed a concept brand for the nation’s tourism industry.

The new Malé office will allow QUO to provide a dedicated service to the Maldivian tourism sector. QUO will offer its full suite of integrated branding services — from brand strategy and amplification, to corporate identity, creative design, content creation, video production, digital services and collateral production.

The Maldives represents an ideal location for QUO to further deepen its relationship with the travel and hospitality industry. The country has a large and thriving tourism market. Representing 30% of the nation’s economy, the Maldives welcomed over 1.2 million visitors in 2015, a 2.4% increase on 2014. The Maldives currently has 616 tourism accommodation establishments with a total of 34,105 beds. The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) estimates that the Maldivian tourism sector will experience an average of 3.8% annual growth in investment over the coming decade.

In setting up its Malé office, QUO is partnering with Perspective Pvt. Ltd., the Maldives’ leading tourism and hospitality marketing, public relations and publishing enterprise. The complementarities between the two companies, with QUO’s extensive global experience in hospitality branding and Perspective’s local hospitality knowledge and publishing expertise, will provide Maldivian resort and hotel companies with the tools necessary to strengthen their brands and clearly communicate them to the rest of the world.
