Production Services Manager

Job Summary & Description 

The Manager of Production Services oversees the entire production process – starting from definition of product specifications to delivery of final product – of a diverse range of manufactured items for clients and in-house use. The job requires efficiency, creativity and excellent co-ordination skills applied with sharp attention to quality and cost control.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Manage staff and administration of department e.g. assign work, train staff, keep staff informed of projects, implement and monitor SOP, staff evaluation.

  • Responsible for production process and output i.e. their match to client requirements; creation and monitoring of production schedule; quality and cost control; timely delivery.

  • Search for, and selection of, external suppliers of a diverse range of services to include printing and colour separation, digital printing and other new production techniques. Negotiate with suppliers for favourable terms of business.

  • Keep abreast of trends (printing and other) and share knowledge about trends and new techniques with Creative and Client Service teams. Attend trade shows and exhibits.

  • Communicate regularly with Creative and Client Service teams to know client base and understand client requirements regarding product needs and specifications, expectations (quality, price, etc.) and deadlines.

  • Collaborate with Client Service teams to resolve issues such as work that does not meet client expectations, delays and errors.

  • Create product specifications which are synchronized with the design strategy and also match clients’ needs, standards and cost levels. Also inform the Creative and Client Service teams of any possible production issues and offer solutions and alternatives; recommend the most efficient workflows.

  • Review and approve all print layouts/mock-ups in consultation with Client Service, Editorial and Creative teams before obtaining production estimates from suppliers.

  • Negotiate and liaise with suppliers as necessary to ensure that items will be produced efficiently i.e. the optimum quantity at the right cost, of the right quality, and within deadlines.

  • Conduct quality checks throughout the process and approve, revise or reject as necessary. Conduct final review upon completion and approval before delivery.

  • Upon completion, assign a staff to distribute samples of the item(s) to Creative and Client Service teams, and place remaining samples in the agency archives.

  • Participate in, or initiate. meetings as required.

  • Able to present company production services and offers with strong selling skills.

  • Understanding of screen print separation theory and process to create production ready separated art files.

  • Able to check artwork and preflight before releasing the artwork to the printer.

  • Support the creative team to design company’s self-promotion collaterals and client’s basic requests.

  • Manage the graphic library and resources including photo stocks.

 Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in printing, design or a related field.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in printing technology or at least a good working knowledge of it including design, materials, products.

  • Familiar with vendors and suppliers, local and overseas.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work fast.

  • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Able to work under pressure and troubleshoot.

  • Able to manage a team.

  • Liaise with vendors to receive innovative solutions which meet creative expectations and budget constraints.

  • Create a mock-up sample before giving order to vendor, and send to Creative team for seeking client approval.

  • Set up production schedules and monitor e.g. perform daily status checks with vendors, adjust production schedules as needed and inform all relevant parties.

  • Look out for potential issues e.g. production or internal workflow inefficiencies, and keep all relevant parties informed.

  • Ensure vendors send all necessary documents – including timelines, invoices, shipment schedules, proofs for review, shipping receipts – check them and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Advise Client Service team on best methods for delivery of finished items to clients e.g. courier, sea freight, air freight or EMS Thai Post according to budget and urgency. Ensure suitable packing and shipment methods are used.

  • Issue and check Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) for all production-related projects, for signed approval by Supervisor.

  • Keep up-to-date on industry information such as new materials and methods.

As Technical Director, you will oversee the acquisition and implementation of useful technologies as well as the creation of end-user programs and products.  You are responsible for managing our development  team when building websites and web apps. Account Manager (Client Service Manager)

Job Summary & Description

 The Account Manager’s main responsibilities are to maintain and develop client relationships – existing and new – with a strategic focus, lead their team in handling client relationships and projects successfully, and to meet or exceed revenue goals.

 The Account Manager also provides project oversight to, and works collaboratively with, all internal teams such as Strategy and Creative to ensure that client objectives are met – or exceeded.

 Job Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop intimate knowledge of client brands and businesses by keeping informed of their business initiatives, industry trends, competition and the market landscape in order to add strategic value to the relationship and to identify opportunities for delivering more services.

  • Take an active leadership role in growing the volume and scope of work we deliver to clients – existing and new. More specifically, the Client Manager strives to meet or exceed the business development revenue goals set for them, by actively up-selling and cross-selling QUO services.

  • Build long-term relationships with clients by, for example, meeting with them on a regular basis to discuss branding and marketing plans, and QUO's performance.

  • Map clients’ organizations in order to establish and build relationships across their organization, and maintain up-to-date client records including background, property facts, contact details, transaction history, etc.

  • Collaborate with Accounting Dept. to ensure that client billing information is correctly recorded and to ensure that the billing and collection process is timely. Maintain and update client records e.g. business pipeline for Accounting purposes as required. 

  • Provide leadership and guidance to client service team members via meetings on a regular basis to provide mentoring and direction. Provide real-time as well as annual performance feedback.

  • Write Creative Briefs to establish strategic and tactical objectives of clients, and also to set parameters with clients about their projects. 

  • Work collaboratively with the Creative team to ensure that creative work meets the client’s strategic objectives. 

  • Work collaboratively with the Concept and Strategy teams, who are tasked with deliverables and schedules.

  • Actively participate in creative reviews at critical stages e.g. midpoint and final, to ensure work will meet or exceed client expectations.

  • Take a leading position during creative presentations, along with Creative team, to facilitate the client approval process.

  • Liaison closely between clients and internal teams during the lifetime of projects.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • 3-10 years’ experience in relevant senior positions such as advertising, account services and/or marketing management at respected agencies for substantial corporate clients, and/or at start-ups.

  • Strong sales and presentation skills, able to articulate branding, marketing and creative strategies clearly and convincingly.

  • Excellent English (spoken, written)

  • Project oversight expertise: Experience delivering integrated branding/marketing programs to large and sophisticated marketing organizations, as well as to smaller entrepreneurial clients.

  • Able to manage, mentor, inspire and organize the people reporting to them to help them achieve objectives as well as create a supportive work environment leading to their professional growth.

  • Must have (at least) generalist experience in marketing services and processes e.g. developing brand strategies, retail marketing programs, trade shows and exhibitions, interactive projects, brand identity systems, collateral design.

The Business Development Manager’s main responsibilities are to develop and explore opportunities for new and existing clients.   • Attend business development/new client meetings with the CEO and/or senior members of the QUO team
