For the past few years, QUO has produced a video for AccorHotels’ annual sales and marketing conference for the Asia-Pacific region. This year was no different, with QUO called upon to create a video that would truly wow attendees of their 2018 ‘Impact from the Heart’ conference, held at Fairmont Jakarta from 15-17 January. Eclipsing all previous years' videos, this year QUO turned Accor’s mascot Bernache into a 3D movie star.
Bernache the Movie shows the iconic goose and a gaggle of his feathery friends flying AccorHotels’ Asia-Pacific senior management team to the conference on their backs, carrying with them a precious cargo of crystal balls. Bernache and his gang pick up key management members from Australia, Thailand, Singapore, India, China, Vietnam, Japan and Korea, before meeting in Jakarta and releasing their crystal balls to initiate a celebratory light show – a dazzling AccorHotels welcome to get the conference underway.
A hit with AccorHotels attendees, the video was the culmination of months of hard work by QUO’s client services and in-house video production teams. The first, and perhaps biggest, challenge was finding a time when all AccorHotels’ ‘stars’ were in the one place to do the green-screen shoot – an obstacle eventually overcome by shooting in Hong Kong while the team was attending HICAP.
To get the camera angles precise and ensure the footage would match the computer-generated imagery, QUO constructed a fake goose for the stars to ride. The shoot saw AccorHotels’ team demonstrate their diverse range of skills with some very convincing green-screen acting, including dancing and cheering mid-flight.
