BETA fever

May 31, 2009 by Oratip Nimkannon

We have Google Chrome (BETA), MSN Live (BETA), Firefox (BETA) and this and that with the beta tag next to them.

Now we have beta chocolates. This is what you get when a group of techies turn chocolatiers. Check it out at http://www.tcho.com/ . The owners say it's a way to engage their customers. I think it's a great way to test the market and also get the customers do part of the research for you.

Would anyone like to try the 1.0 Nutty?

Oratip, you reminded me of another chocolate-related marketing tidbit that has come up in the news of late. Mars, that global purveyor of mass-market chocolate-covered calories we all know and love has come out with a new line of sexy chocolate targeting what they feel is the most lucrative of the chocolate market segments--women. Called "Fling" ("You never know when you'll want to have a fling") the pink wrappers enclose a pair of "chocolate fingers" and..well..the innuendos just go on and on..check it out at: http://www.flingchocolate.com/

Isnt Fling simply a resurrection of the chocolate bar called Twix? Was called Raider in France in the early days....

Thank you.
